somerset to pittsburgh in one day!!

we woke up in somerset in the tent next to the pa turnpike at 445 am in the rain and made our way to a nearby diner.. we posted up there until around 8 when the rain stopped and we took a chance and started west the hard way.. the bike route went 30 miles south to avoid two sets of mountains but we just said screw it and went over them both... our knees were killing us and we were loaded up w aspirin, climbed two amazing mountain and flew down them at speeds exceeding 40mph!! ( i swear chels hit 50.. scared the living shit out of me!!)

looking back up at mt laurel after flying down it for the last 5 miles as fast as our bikes could go... AWESOME

this is my old chef d.. took me from a shitty little rascal to a respectable cook in a year and a half... havent seen him in almost 7 years, sooo great to see him and his son ian.. were out back of a restaurant hes running (in addition to many others) in scottsdale pa, torturing purveyors, servers, and non kitchen people in general.. business as usual.. he hookid it up w lunch and we left for steeltown...

chelsea housing some sweet corn on the side of route 51 about 25 miles from home.. hardest road weve ridden yet.. pgh is NOT bike friendly...
