ROAD WARRIORS... TATHRA TO SYDNEY

one afternoon i was riding along through a beach community called tathra and at the bottom of a big hill i stumbled upon 2 kiwis (new zealanders), robins and naram, who were on bikes loaded up with gear.. they explained that they were cycling around australia and then heading up to indonesia and eventually cyling all the way to europe.. what are the chances of meeting 2 guys the same age as me doing almost the exact same thing on the same budget??? robins and i reckon that there cant be more than a couple hundred of us and the chances of meeting are pretty slim.. anyway we stuck together up to sydney and plan on riding all the way to brisbane together where ill fly to indonesia..
robins is a film producer from wellington who is obsessed with all things india.. he wears his hair in dreads and can instantly liven up any situation with his charisma.. he is very adventurous, although he no longer is allowed to ride in the front because of the profound rancidness of the smells he omits from his ass, which he will happily bless us with all day given the opporitunity..
naram is a dj who grew up with robins and is interested in riding to glascow, scotland where he plans to work in the sound industry.. he is a purist of old 'real' reggae and has filled my ipod with lots of gems..

en route to sydney we camped on or near the beach every night.. i bought a $5 child's fishing rod and caught fish a couple nights which we roasted over the fire.. many of there kiwi habits and terminology are rubbing off on me and i notice myself saying things like 'i reckon', 'sweet as', and 'cheers'.. also referring to people as 'the king' or 'legend' and calling women 'birds'.. also i am officially a tea drinker and have increased my cheese consumption tremendously since i met them...theyve also turned me on to some amazing books..
