we began the 500+ mile trek to san francisco with a 40 mile ride from san diego to oceanside.. it is BEAUTIFUL!! awesome coastal cliffs and beaches.. surprisingly hilly ride with some pretty solid headwinds, but we don't mind.. we feel like we've made it but we are still as far from san fran as pittsburgh from nyc! trying to figure out the best way to get to asia (or new zealand?)
