Hanoi for a couple weeks...

I posted up in Hanoi with me mate Jonni Doig, Jon's a sound English chap well versed in pool and backgammon, so naturally we get on pretty well. We are known to spend all of our time doing 'white guy things' which includes the following:
-Pool ad backgammon
-Cooking western food
-Drinking lots of scotch whiskey
-Beer and dogwalking
-Watching football (soccer)

I fell in love with Hanoi, it's got a lot of soul and amazing food. During my time there I got a Chinese visa ($200 for 1 bloody month), and Amy came up from Saigon so that we could spend a few more days together before I left for evil China...

The food in Hanoi is pretty diverse and amazing. They do a lot with 'pho' noodles and most of it is pretty tasty

Pho Hanoi is different from Saigon, it's not served with herbs but instead wth pickled chili and garlic

'Banh Da Cua' consists of wide dark-colored noodles in a spicy broth with crab and vegetables

'Pho cuon' or 'rolled pho' are large pho noodles wrapped around hot beef and vegetables then dipped in fish sauce and chili, goes great with a bottle of beer Hanoi

Stumbled across a market that was made up of rows of stalls selling whole dogs that have been roasted on a spit

'Pho chua' or 'sour pho' - warm noodles tossed with herbs, beef, and peanuts and covered in a sweet and sour tamarind sauce

At the end of the day all that's left at the dag market are small, roasted puppy heads!
