el paso is big, like half a million people and we were looking for a cheap motel because we didnt think we could find a camp spot in this traffic ridden hell of highway and mountains.. luckily we stumbled upon an empty buisness lot that was just high enough above the road so that cars couldnt see us.. the next morning we spent all morning riding from east el paso to west, then i spoke to our warm showers friend roy who told me about an alternative route to las cruces (we planned on taking the interstate which was insane), and it turned out to be one of the most beautiful rides of the whole trip, but thats another post.. also we spent about 7 or 8 miles on a six lane, no shoulder, highway called mesa that went thru the city.. we flew, as fast as possible thru the ups and downs and traffic.. city riding is still our fav... intense
