nyc to san fran via chicago and mexico??!!

after hanging out with juan this weekend and hearing stories from some of his recent adventures in mexico (since he and i were there) we've decided to ride down through texas to corpus christi and cross over!! then to monterrey (the third largest city in the country) and hea south west all the way to mazatlan where we plan on taking the 100 mile ferry to la paz on the baja penninsula.. then head up the coast 1000 more miles to san fran!! our cross-country leg is turning into a trans northamerica trip hitting almost 5000 miles!!! we'll also be posting about the american misconception of the danger levels in the border towns (hopefully!!).. we've been reading lots of accounts that the amer press blows things out of proportion down there and we will give our accounts... let me kno your thoughts
